The good news is that there is some superb technology available for small business today. Selecting the best options today will pay dividends later on. But obviously you can't spend a lot of time looking at all the options when you need to focus on your clients. You'll need advice from someone who knows what they're doing. Hardware, software, networks, security, installation and configuration
We'll help you choose your hardware based on where you work and the software applications you need. A proper server (e.g. with Microsoft Small Business Server) may be too sophisticated: a shared folder, a NAS or Google Apps might be a better fit. We can supply the hardware, which is more straightforward, or you can purchase it yourself based on our advice. You may already have some of the hardware you need. We'll install it for you, set up the network and configure everything so it all works properly.
Support
You'll need someone you can call to sort out any problems. You won't want to go back and forth between different suppliers. With Time Bank you purchase blocks of time in advance, which you can draw upon for support, upgrades, installation, helpdesk and advice on a minute by minute basis. We provide an itemised report of time spent each month. Remaining time rolls over from month to month for up to 12 months.
Backup
Hardware is cheap but labour is expensive and unreliable. Copying files to a USB stick once a week just isn't practical. You'll need something more automated and more reliable. We offer a choice of backup services, including our fully managed Bambu backup and recovery service.
You'll need a proper business email system with your own domain name, with webmail and mobile email. With calendars and contact lists. that can grow to accommodate additional people. Although many small businesses use their ISP or web company for POP email mailboxes, Google Apps or Hosted Exchange are a much better choice, and often cheaper.
Web Hosting
We provide domain names and hosting from £25 + VAT per year. We also provide Wordpress and Joomla hosting.
